As of yet no one has given any input on this subject so until such a time as some one does the transport shall be as follows. 1: from city to city. the first of the 2 forms of transport shall be by essentially light rail with the energy for its movement being solar energy the difference between this and your normal light rail is that there is a guard who hands out 'hygiene' suites which are like jumpers basically and the seating on the train is more like arm chairs than benches. the second form of transport between cities is by horse (for those of us stuck in the middle ages

Jenna,
You need to to take the initiative and have conference with Emma.
Sincerely, GM

ok so as I have been thoroughly chastised by the GM and Flint I am revising my earlier post in that now the only transport between the cities is the afore mentioned "light rail" train (still solar powered) the form of transport in city is by basically hover craft cars (powered by converting water to energy) and the form of transport in the non-developed parts of the world will be by helicopter (power source tbd) any suggestions will be taken into account but i can't work on suggestions I didn't get so if you have a suggestion please tell me.

There is going to be a second form of transport in the cities (the cities will be built on a magnetic grid) it is like a surf board that is powered by opposing forces with magnets in the bottom of the board at opposing forces with the ground magnets the person riding the board has crash bracelets which are magnetic bracelets that are on wrists and ankles and stop the rider from hitting the ground (it stops there fall about a foot off the ground) the cars that were before mentioned will also be run not by water but by the magnetic grid in the ground.

I'm thinking that the magnetic grids should either be powered by Geothermal or hydroelectric power(on the coast or by rivers ect.).
The above stated can be supplemented by solar/wind power.

solar and wind power is good rivers are used to provide magnetic forces when one wants to use the hover boards out side of a city and the magnetic grids aren't powered by anything they're just magnets the boards and cars are solar powered to make them push against the magnets in the ground and control speed and direction

These are some very good ideas, please do confer with the PIC of technology about the tech aspects (oddly enough). It seems like you are trying to get around the whole issue of actually 'motorized' transportation, and that's fine, great, wonderful! but you still do need to confer with Emma. It is her prerogative to come up with these new inventions, so you should at least keep her informed about them. Ever, GM

A: they are not new inventions to anyone who has read Scott Westerfield's works and I know everything about them and B: there has yet to be an aspect of the transportation that has been either not strait forward nor that has required discussion with Emma about technology. In the event that at some point I need insite, help, asistance, or advise from the technological department then I assure you I will confer with Emma but I have not found it necasary as yet to do so just as Emma, Ida, and Zeta have not found it necesary to confer with me.

Yes, I was just getting to confer with you Jenna. Why would roads be needed if these forms of transportation take place? And I would like to rightfully claim my position as the inventor/engineer/technology nerd. So, if others would please kindly allow me to do my share of this great work, alias world domination, I assure you that you will not be disappointed, of course only on the understanding that I will consider your ideas possibly in a mini conference with Flint, who has a great amount of insight on these things and is not prone to be rash.

I appreciate your posting as it makes this part easier for me now to answer your quetions in order 1: roads would be necisary so that the cars (not necicarily the boards) would not be cutting through peoples lawns to go places (trucks for deliveries etc aren't even driven by people they are auto piloted by a gps and a sencor that detects other cars and boards by there unique signal I'll go more into that latter) 2: just so everyone knows this magnetic engenearing is not something i pulled out of a hat as it were rather it is a subject that i have done a ton of research on for my transport system and the city structure and running therefore there is very little wiggle room for ajustment it is fool proof unless we go more that a week with absolutly no sunlight and absolutly no running water sources. If Emma and Flint would please come up with a way to store access solar energy for times such as the afore mentioned instance. I can explain anything else you guys need to know on Fri as my fingers are protesting at the access typing.

Very well then, could you at least state some of the design characteristics?

Please bring your research on Friday! I would love to see it, and I think it would be useful for other ideas I have!
